Home Of Memories

My Aunt Clara's home, what it looks like now.

This is her backyard, it is a very sloped hill that goes down to a running creek......this year was the 1st time i have seen it years. It seems her great nephew has been working at cutting the trees and bush so you can actually go down there now.
The last 15 years, the bush and trees have grown, yet you could hear the sound of the water running .Now you can actually see it again.
This was wonderful to see, as i played down in that little creek when i was a child

Here it is.....in a distance.......

Only my brother and my nieces will appreciate this. (and of course those who are interested)

As this to us is a childhood place. We are very lucky to still have my Aunt with us, who is like and always has been like a grandmother to me and my brothers.

Now that she is 99 years old and has to reside in a nursing home. She misses her home soo very much, she tells me.

So while we visited western Quebec a few weeks back.....we of course had to check on her home.

She has a few people cutting the grass and watching out for it now......but it sits empty, which is the very sad part.

I found it ....calming to me.....yet.....as an emotional person.......my heart was extremely heavy to see her no longer there, this is a place my brothers and i can reflect on childhood memories...How very lucky we are....that we can do that.

To my Great Aunt Clara........we love you!!....Thanks for being the wonderful person you are, as she has no idea the effect she has given us.

For those of you who visit me, please see my other post for today at the Blogging Den

Wonderful story! I enjoyed reading and the pictures are really nice too! It reminded me of my childhood that I spent living with my grandmother at her place.

Ciao!
